The City of Talladega has added another exciting destination for families and children with the addition of a brand new GameTime playground behind Fire Station #2 on Broadway Avenue. This new community play space is part of a larger investment in outdoor recreation across the city.

This playground features a colorful and engaging GameTime PrimeTime® play structure, designed to support a wide range of developmental benefits for children ages 5–12. With multiple slides, climbers, and activity panels, this structure encourages movement, imagination, and social interaction. PrimeTime is known for its compact footprint, making it a perfect fit for neighborhood parks and community spaces like this one.

In addition to the main structure, the playground includes classic swings and a Solo Spinner, a dynamic freestanding spinner that promotes balance, coordination, and sensory play. These additional elements offer even more opportunities for fun and active movement.

Safety and accessibility were also a priority on this project. The playground features engineered wood fiber (EWF) surfacing, which provides a natural look while helping cushion falls and improve mobility for all users. The surface meets national safety standards and is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly choice for public playgrounds.

Talladega’s investment in this site complements recent updates to other community parks, including the new Unity Playground at Veterans Park. While that playground was designed specifically for inclusive play, the Fire Station #2 site adds another welcoming, accessible space for families in a different part of the city—making it easier for all residents to enjoy high-quality play close to home.
