Pelham City Park Playground & Splashpad
Pelham's new playground features many inclusive products for all ages and abilities to enjoy! A few highlights of this playground include a FULLY RAMPED PLAYSTRUCTURE for ages 2-5 and a PARTIALLY RAMPED PLAYSTRUCTURE for ages 5-12, both of which have a variety of MUSIC and SENSORY related play panels and social activities. There are also opportunities for parallel play throughout the play area, including a DOUBLE ZIP TRACK ride with a chair-style seat with plastic harness. One of the more unique elements of the playground is GameTime's GT SPLASH, a net climber which features: an EVERYBODY PLAYS® transfer platform attached to a SUREGRIP® accessible route, leading to a six-foot ZIP SLIDE. There is also an INCLUSIVE WHIRL in the middle of the play space that provides ease of access for people of all abilities to enjoy with its ground-level, zero-entry design. This whirl features a bench seat (at transfer height), a large platform surface that EXCEEDS ADA REQUIREMENTS for turn-around space and handrails for users to grasp while spinning.
Pelham City Park is a fantastic addition to the community for the residents of Pelham, Alabama. Great job Pelham Parks & Recreation for investing in our community with this new inclusive playground & splashpad. We especially enjoyed this build as this playground is in Struthers Recreation's own back yard (as our home office is in Pelham, Alabama) and we enjoy creating playgrounds and splashpads for our kids, neighbors, and friends as well as the entire Southeast.
