Beth Yates Park Brings Research-Based Play to Sylacauga with New PlayOn! National Demonstration Site
Sylacauga families have a new destination for active outdoor fun at Beth Yates Park. Struthers Recreation is proud to partner with the City of Sylacauga to bring this exciting new playground to life as a PlayOn! National Demonstration Site (NDS) by GameTime.
Designed using research-based principles that encourage children to move, climb, balance, swing, spin, and explore, the playground provides opportunities for healthy physical activity while creating an exciting place for families to gather and play. National Demonstration Sites showcase best practices in playground design and serve as models for communities looking to promote active lifestyles through play.
The new playground features a dynamic combination of:
- Research-based PlayOn! play structure
- Freestanding play equipment
- Synthetic turf safety surfacing
- Shade structures for added comfort
- Accessible pathways and play opportunities
- Spaces designed for children of varying ages and abilities to enjoy together
Every element of the playground was thoughtfully selected to encourage movement, imagination, social interaction, and confidence while creating an inviting destination for the Sylacauga community.
Located within Beth Yates Park, the new playground complements the park's existing recreational amenities and provides another reason for families to spend time outdoors together.
