AB Palmer Park Gets a Playful Upgrade in Shreveport, LA

In April 2025, the City of Shreveport and SPAR (Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation) unveiled exciting new additions to AB Palmer Park, giving local families even more reasons to get outside and play.

Located at 547 E 79th Street, the revitalized playground features the eye-catching Saucy Swirl play structure, packed with fun climbing elements, slides, and interactive components designed to keep kids moving and engaged. The new equipment promotes active play and encourages creativity, imagination, and social interaction for children of all abilities.

The project also includes classic swings, always a favorite among kids of all ages, and loose shredded rubber surfacing—a safety-focused, impact-absorbing material that helps reduce injuries during active play.

In addition to the new play elements, the park now includes site amenities that make visits more enjoyable for everyone—whether you're watching your child play, enjoying a picnic, or simply relaxing in the shade.

AB Palmer Park’s upgrade is part of a broader initiative by SPAR to invest in safe, inclusive, and exciting recreational spaces throughout the city. It’s a great example of how thoughtful park improvements can bring communities together and support healthy outdoor lifestyles.
