Parks and Recreation Month: Celebrating the Spaces That Bring Communities Together
July is Parks and Recreation Month—a time to recognize the parks, trails, playgrounds, and outdoor spaces that help our communities thrive.
These spaces are where children discover the joy of play, families spend quality time together, neighbors connect, and people of all ages stay active. They improve health, encourage social interaction, support local events, and create lasting memories.
At Struthers Recreation, we're proud to partner with parks departments, schools, municipalities, churches, HOAs, and community organizations across Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and the Florida Panhandle to create places where people want to gather.
Whether it's an inclusive playground, a neighborhood park, an outdoor fitness area, shade structures, site amenities, or safety surfacing, every project begins with the same goal: creating spaces that serve the people who use them.
We're especially grateful for the parks and recreation professionals who work year-round to maintain these spaces and continue investing in their communities. Their dedication makes a lasting impact on the health and well-being of residents every day.
As we celebrate Parks and Recreation Month, we encourage everyone to spend some time outside. Visit your local park, take a walk, let the kids explore a playground, or simply enjoy the benefits of being in your community's outdoor spaces.
If you're planning improvements to an existing park or dreaming about a new recreation space, our team is here to help—from concept through installation.
Here's to another month of creating places where communities play, connect, and grow.
